My Proposal

Being a student at Elmira District Secondary School I find that our school is lacking in the spirit department. Schools in the United States always go full-out when they are at a sports events for their school. My proposal is to increase the amount of school spirit within EDSS. In this business report I have different ideas and solutions to make this happen. Here is my proposal.

Horror

I really like watching hooror films. They always keep you in the edge of your seat. One of my favourite horror films is Paranormal Activity. It wasn't that scary when I was watching it, but when I get home and think about what all happens it kind of creeps me out. I love watching scary movies when it is storming outside and all of the lights out. It gives me an adrenaline rush and I love it. Things that are gory don't really bother me at all. I think that this type of genre will start to get scarier because they have the technology to do so. The Shinning was an interesting movie, but I can't say I'm a big fan of it. It wasn't scary at all to me, so it kind of made it boring.

Action/Adventure

The genre action/adventure is very intense. It keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. My favourite superhero movie is The Incredibles. It is a funny movie but filled with action at the same time. I think that people love this kind of movie because it proves that the better people will conquere in life and it gives people hope.

My Book

In the book that I am reading right now it is about three girls who are about in their twenties. Their mother passed away when they were very young. So it was just them and their father their whole lives, until their father passed away just recently. Their father owned a crossroads, where people would come and stay on their travels. The three girls now run the crossroads and deal with the loss of their father.
More details to come soon.

(I forget the name of the book)

The Olympics

So, I'm really not a "sport's watcher". I will watch the odd hockey game, but usually only if my dad and brother have it on the tv. I loved watching the Olympics though. There was always something going on. Also when the Olympics is such a big deal, it makes it more interesting and entertaining to watch. The three weeks that the Olympics was on, i wasn't bored, I always had something to watch!
It was also exciting the amount of gold medals that Canada got this year. More than ever!
And Sidney Crosby, well he is my hero. I plan on marrying him :)

Who Am I?

My name is Ashley Lauren Bauman. I am 17 years old, and soon to be 18 on February 19th. I have lived in Elmira my whole life and I love living in this little town. I prefer livin' the country life, but going to the city is fine with me once in a while to do my shopping. I love shopping. It is definately my weakness. In my spare time I like to scrapbook, hang out with my friends or go outside and do something active.Summer is my favourite season of the year. My family has a trailer, so we go camping ever summer with other families. In the summer I love to go to the beach and relax. I basically like all types of music, anywhere from country to rap and pop. My career goal is eventually to own a salon and spa with my friend. I want to go through school to be an esthetician. My goal is to travel most of the world and experience different cultures. I live life to the fullest and live with no regrets.

Hot or Not?

The movie "Fired Up" was written by Freedom Jones and was directed by Will Gluck. This movie was released on February 20th, 2009. Fired Up is a comedy that involves the two most popular guys in highschool. These two boys, Nick (Eric Christian Olsen) and Shawn (Nicholas D'Agosto), are the captains of the football team and they were supposed to go to a football camp for two weeks. Instead of doing that they decided to hit up a cheerleading camp for a couple weeks to try to get laid. On the poster the tagline reads "2 Guys. 300 Girls. You do the math." With this catchy saying it got the attention of many teenage guys because its what every teenage boy dreams of. It turns out that Nick and Shawn ended up falling inlove with the sport of cheerleading.

What did I like in this movie? Olsen and D'Agosto really knew how to take their roles and really make them humorous. This movie is a comedy that ties in a little bit of romance. Its a movie that teenage boys can basically relate to which also makes it interesting for teenage girls to watch.

What are some downfalls in the movie? The thing that I didn't like about "Fired Up" was that it was very predictable. This movie didn't bring anything new to the genre and just kept it simple. There were no risks in the film which is ironic considering "you gotta risk it to get the biscuit" was a main line in the film.

Overall i really liked this movie, considering I saw it twice in theatres. Its a comedy that will keep you laughing. It was worth the money. I would rate it as HOT.
